Learn the iconic routine My, My, Ain’t That Something?, featured in the 1943 film Stormy Weather. Choreographed by Katherine Dunham and performed by an all-Black cast, this classic routine is a powerful celebration of rhythm, musicality, and individual expression. Through learning and exploring the choreography, you’ll dive into its historical context while developing your own sense of rhythm, musical interpretation, and personal style.
What to wear: any clothing that you feel comfortable dancing a bit and sweating. In terms of shoes, no external footwear is allowed in studios at Dance Ireland. Please bring separate shoes that are clean white soled trainers - no converse or street shoes. In doubt, just socks are always an easy comfortable option.
