Beginners+

Students have a dependable technical foundation and a broad vocabulary, and pick up new material at pace. The focus shifts from what the movement is to how it is executed: styling, musicality, more complex rhythms and footwork, and smoothness of transitions - plus, in partnered styles, a responsive connection that adapts to different partners. Most are dancing regularly outside class, socially or in a performance team.

Students have strong technical command and absorb complex material quickly, so classes refine rather than cover. Content goes deep on specific topics: technique, improvisation, individual expression, musicality, or demanding choreography. Many at this level perform, compete, or are training to teach. Often the level for specialist workshops and visiting teachers.

Students are at the top of their local scene and often recognised more widely - experienced performers, competitors and teachers. Complete command of technique and vocabulary is assumed. Classes work on fine detail and artistry, and may address craft beyond dancing itself: teaching methodology, choreographic choices, competition or performance preparation.
